SATHYA's history

Born in Tokyo, Japan.
Learned western music as an infant.
Studied contrabass at music high school and university.
At the age of 21, joined the Sinsei-Japan Symphony Orchestra,
as the youngest principal contrabassist in Japanese music history.
After 3 years study in Berlin (Germany),
played in the Royal Flanders Philharmonic Orchestra in Belgium as principal bassist during ten years.
Then after ended career as a contrabassist, and commenced composing and playing the Sheng.
After staying to study improvisation music in India
in 1999 organized the group "ONDE"(=wave)with the composer Mr.Satoshi Mukai.
Sathya continues to transmit universal “love" and “harmony" by sounds
with main themes such as “sharing" and “mutual aid".
Such themes are the essences of the universe and the basic way of life as human being.
